Our Community Food Pantry serves those with addresses in Shenandoah, Essex, Farragut, Blanchard, Coin, and Northboro. Please call at least a day ahead for an appointment to receive food. Leave your name and number on our answering machine; a volunteer will return your call.

West Central Community Action Page County Outreach

Food Pantry, Clothing Room, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Weatherization, Senior Aide Employment, Head Start, WIC, and Child Care referrals. Clients may access clothing room once a week. Special projects include a Holiday Gift Drive during the month of December. This office accepts applications for the South Iowa Regional Housing Authority (SIRHA). Hours: Monday through Friday, 9am to 3pm

WIC Clinic - MATURA in Shenandoah

WIC location and hours may vary. Please contact your local WIC office if you have questions or need to schedule an appointment.

The Women, Infants, and Children Program (WIC) offers nutrition support and food assistance to income-eligible pregnant and postpartum women and children under the age of five. WIC specializes in breastfeeding support, including classes and one-on-one appointments with lactation consultants. They can also help connect women with breast pumps as needed. In addition to breastfeeding help, WIC can provide families with nutrition education from qualified nutrition professionals, connections to other community resources, and monthly supplemental foods to support a healthy lifestyle.
